Whether you’ve got a spare hour or the whole day, there’s loads to do. Given our city location, we’d recommend you head out on foot.
The Thames Path is 184 miles walking trail that follows our neighbour, the River. It meanders from its source in the Cotswolds through several rural counties and on into the heart of London. The path passes peaceful water meadows rich in wildlife, historic towns and cities and many lovely villages, finishing at the Thames Barrier in Woolwich just a few miles from the sea. We don’t expect you to go the whole way. But we would recommend enjoying the fresh air.
Host to Oxford United Football Club – a team established back in 1893. The Boys from Up the Hill gained great recognition when they, the ‘underdog’, took the “Milk Cup” in 1986 with such energy and . Currently playing in 1st Division, this inspiring team will be sure to show you a great match.

For all Morse, Lewis (Hathaway) and Endeavour fans, this is the tour to take, led by your expert and enthusiastic Oxford Green/Blue Badge Guide. Tours run Fridays & Saturdays at 10.45am as well as Sundays, Mondays & Wednesdays at 1.30pm from the Oxford Visitor Information Centre OX1 3AS.
Hinksey outdoor swimming pool
Open during the warmer months Hinksey Outdoor Pool is both a heated and fun pool for all the family to enjoy. There is an area for lap swimming and a large area for family fun, plus a cafe and plenty of room to relax.
